Teens are navigating an enormous amount: academic pressure, social dynamics, identity questions, family tension, and a world that often feels overwhelming. And most of them are doing it without the tools or language to make sense of what they're feeling.
I work with teens in a way that respects their autonomy and intelligence. I don't talk down to them, and I don't pretend to have all the answers. What I do offer is a genuine, safe relationship where they can be honest about what's going on without fear of judgment or consequences.
My approach with adolescents blends talk therapy with somatic awareness, helping teens notice what's happening in their bodies when they feel anxious, angry, or shut down. Many teens respond to this because it gives them something concrete to work with, not just more talking. Parents may be involved in the process to the degree that feels right for everyone. My priority is always what will benefit my client, the adolescent.
