Supervision and consultation
Therapy is a calling.
Being a therapist can be an incredibly rewarding career.
It can also be really difficult.
I believe that being the best therapist you can be means showing up authentically. Because I work relationally, I believe that who the therapist is and how fully and genuinely the therapist relates to the client are the most important components of the therapeutic relationship.
Getting there is a beautiful process. It necessarily, however, means that the therapist must be in touch with themselves and accept themselves as completely as they can. Sometimes (oftentimes?) genuineness with yourself as a therapist means understanding those parts that you would rather not see, that are less glamorous. You have the full spectrum of human emotions, the joyful ones and the challenging ones and everything in between, and you need to understand them to do meaningful work with your clients.
Therapists need support, too.
To guide you when you are feeling stuck. To hold you when the work feels overwhelming. To accept you without judgment when you feel ashamed. To be by your side through the beauty of it, through the emotion of it, through the healing of it.
I offer a compassionate and accepting place for you to get that support. Together, we try to understand your clients and to identify skillful interventions. Throughout it all, I see you as the complicated and beautiful human being that you are and support that person. Being a skillful therapist means being willing to look at all that is being brought up for you in this work. I am honored to guide you through that process.
We most support our clients when our own cups are full.
I provide supervision and consultation to other therapists. Contact me for more information
