In-Person and Virtual Therapy
Find your calm.
Your sanctuary.
It’s heaven to have a place to unwind – a safe, comfortable, quiet space where you can, for a few moments, drop all your walls and defenses and just be yourself – without fear or judgment. A place where you can just breathe. Where you can share anything and everything in total security.
Coming to therapy is that place. Many people love the ritual of coming to a therapy office. The feeling that they can look forward to, and can count on, a dedicated time and space to feel heard, known, understood.
My office is that relaxing oasis where you can find your calm.
But sometimes, life gets crazy.
Distance. Travel time. Traffic. Just the mention of the Bay Bridge, Highway 101, or I-80 makes you cringe. San Francisco traffic is reportedly fourth worst in the world! There’s so much you could be doing with that travel time, and just the thought of what you’re NOT doing while you sit there, stewing in a jam, gets you wound up and stressed before you even arrive.
Work. School. Home. Shopping. It’s all just too much. You can barely squeeze a few minutes for sleep in between maintaining curb appeal and clean underwear, chauffeuring the kids to one activity after another, making the vet appointment, helping other family members and the neighbors, supporting your spouse, and getting that next work project ready by the deadline. Who’s got time for therapy?
Is your head ready to explode?
Relax. You do have an option. Virtual therapy.
The What
Virtual therapy is the use of secure videoconferencing technology on your computer – or even an app on your phone – so you can access therapy without having to come to the office. In certain circumstances, therapy by phone instead of video may even be appropriate.
It allows you to experience all the benefits of therapy with the convenience of never having to leave your home – or, when you need it – to be able to access therapy anywhere.
The Why
Virtual therapy makes sense for all kinds of clients and situations.
Too much on your plate?
No worries. Virtual therapy saves you travel time both to and from your appointment.
Too far away? Frustrated by traffic?
Virtual therapy removes that problem completely. You can engage in therapy without all that stress.
Having trouble finding dependable, affordable child care?
With virtual therapy, you don’t need to. Naptime and bedtime are amazing opportunities for therapy; and with virtual therapy, it’s possible!
The Who
You’re in college here but in another part of the state between terms. Or you’re moving.
No problem! Virtual therapy allows for continual care and support no matter where you are in the state. You don’t have to worry about losing the relationship you’ve built with me just because you’re in a new location.
Your physical illness, pain, or recuperation makes getting out of the house difficult.
With virtual therapy, you don’t have to get out of your pajamas – or even your bed. No matter how you feel, you can still reach me. In fact, when you’re feeling at your worst or perhaps struggling with rehabilitation or physical therapy, that’s when you need therapy most.
The When
Need the security, convenience, and stability of that regularly scheduled appointment?
Virtual therapy allows for all of those things no matter where you are.
Traveling a lot? Or for vacation?
Virtual therapy allows you to keep your regularly scheduled appointment even if you travel often for work or play.
The How
All you need is a comfortable, private space (home, office, hotel room) where you can relax and make time for yourself, Internet or phone access, and a device (computer, tablet, even your phone).
It really is that simple.
The WOW!
Virtual therapy can be a real game changer for you. And it’s all at the click of a button or mouse.
You may want to use it in combination with face-to-face therapy, or you may even find that you prefer video therapy. It’s always there for you when you need it.
Don’t let anything stand in your way!
Ditch the drama! Therapy should help you relieve stress – not cause it!
Still have questions? No problem. Reach out today at (415) 255-2647 for a free consultation, so you can see if it’s right for you.
You’re on a tremendous journey toward the life you’ve always imagined for yourself. Let’s keep you moving forward – no matter what.
*One word of caution: Virtual therapy is an amazing tool and alternative, but it’s not appropriate for everyone. If you’re undergoing a psychological crisis, having suicidal thoughts, engaging in self-harm or experiencing severe and/or persistent mental health concerns, in-person therapy may be more appropriate.
